Auli is a beautiful hill station in Uttarakhand. Another name given to it is ‘Bugyal’. It is a good ski resort, according to some, it is one of the best among the topmost resorts. Travelers Travelling to Badrinath come across Auli on their way. At Auli, one comes across the longest cable car in Asia. This is popularly known as Gondola. There is also a chair lift. Ski-lift allows one to have a good view of the panoramic landscape.

Auli has a lot for tourists to see and enjoy. Here at Auli, one comes across the highest lake made by man. There is hotel accommodation just next to it. There is a provision for creating artificial skiing slopes from the waters of this lake during less snowfall.

Trekking is an enjoyable experience at this beautiful hill station. Some famous trails are those of Auli-Gorson, Tali-Kuari Pass, Kuari Pass-Khulara, and Khulara-Tapovan.

The hill station is surrounded by many lovely mountain peaks. These peaks have beautiful names to them; most of these names are mythological. Mt. Nanda Devi and Mt. Neelkanth are visible from here. A lovely temple dedicated to Hanumana has been constructed here. It is believed that the place was visited by him as he was flying in search of Sanjivini Booty for reviving Lakshmana.

The moderate temperature in April makes Auli an interesting tourist destination. Winters are welcomed by tourists as one can go skiing during this time.

Auli is easily accessible via air, and road. The domestic airport, Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun is just 179 Km from Auli. One can take taxi cabs from the airport to Auli. Taxi fare comes to Rs. 4000/.
